The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the maintenance of public facilities, town centres, parks and recreational space in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Participate as a team member to effectively maintain council parks, reserves and facilities to the highest possible standard. Utilising an assortment of commercial machinery & plant.
  • Complete precise documentation as required, ensuring compliance with requirements, legislation and obligations.
  • Maintain effective and timely communication with your supervisor, team and other colleagues or members of the public to ensure safe completion of quality outcomes within set timeframes, maintaining a customer service attitude at all times.
  • Contribute to implementing innovative work practices and procedures whilst maximising utilisation of resources.
  • Competently operate and undertake basic maintenance on excavators, ride on mowers and small trucks utilised in everyday duties.
  • Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture within the team to ensure a safe workplace for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of capital and maintenance works.

About You 

We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic. You - 

  • Are able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
  • Prioritise safety and actively contribute to a positive safety culture within your team
  • Enjoy working outdoors and take pride in your work 

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • One years’ experience in a related environment
  • General Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
  • Class C Driver Licence
  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller
  • Approved certificate for Chemical User Applications

About the Role

Full time: 76-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $53,180 to $61,157 pa + 11.5% super
