The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the maintenance and construction of Council’s roads and drainage infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist to repair potholes and edge wear/breaks using bitumen patching techniques/products (crack sealing, minor bitumen sealing) in varying weather conditions and ensure that bitumen is cleaned from plant and equipment.
- Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture within the organisation through completion of required documentation, reporting incidents/hazards/near misses and contributing to team discussions.
- Deliver safe and effective traffic control services in accordance with provided work zone traffic management plans and in accordance with the Traffic Control at worksites manual and Council’s category ‘G’ registration

- has the ability to use a variety of work tools and resources to enhance work products and expand own skill set
- Is open to sharing knowledge and information with team members and other staff
- Can understand team objectives and work well as a team
We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
- Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
- Class MR Driver Licence
- SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller
About the Role
Full time: 76-hour fortnight
Salary: Range from $53,180 to $61,157 pa + 11.5% super
