A bit about the role:
Our Open Spaces team make the Richmond Valley clean, tidy and attractive for our community and people coming to visit. Horticulture is one of the fastest growing industries in Australia and if you are passionate about the environment and sustainability, this team could be for you. You will be creating and nurturing our green spaces.
In a trainee, we look for:
- Good customer service skills
- Someone who enjoys being outdoors and gardening
- Passion for the environment and making the community look good
What you can learn:
- How to operate and maintain a variety of plant
- Understanding of the proper use of chemicals
- Communication skills
- Understanding of WHS and PPE requirements
- How to manage your time and priorities
- Experience in horticulture and general maintenance
About the role
An Apprenticeship in Horticulture is full time employment for three (3) years, and the proposed study will be a Certificate III in Horticulture - Parks and Gardens.
Fixed term: 76-hour fortnight (Term Contract - 3 years)
Salary: Based on the Local Government Award + 12% super
