Events Support Officer - TERM CONTRACT

The primary purpose of the role is to support the delivery of quality outcomes in the development and implementation of Council’s calendar of events, ensuring sustainability, growth and continuous improvement in line with Council’s operational and delivery plans.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Event planning: Assist in the development and execution of event plans, including brainstorming session ideas, selecting venues, and coordinating logistics.
  • Vendor coordination: Liaise with external vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, and ensure all arrangements align with budgetary constraints and quality standards.
  • Promotion and marketing: Collaborate with the Communications team to promote events through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and promotional materials, to attract attendees and enhance engagement.
  • On-site support: Provide on-site support during events, ensuring smooth operations, managing registration desks, overseeing setup and breakdown, and addressing any issues which arise promptly.
  • Attendee engagement: Foster positive relationships with event attendees, speakers, sponsors, and partners, addressing their enquiries and needs to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience.
  • Budget management: Assist in budget creation and monitoring, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality and effectiveness of events.
  • Post-event evaluation: Participate in post-event debriefings to assess event success, gather feedback from stakeholders, and identify areas for improvement in future events.
  • Research and innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in event management to contribute fresh ideas and innovative solutions to enhance event experiences.

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual and team player to join the Invest and Live RV team. You are-

  • A strong communicator with the ability to liaise with diverse groups within the community
  • Detail-oriented, with strong time management and administrative skills
  • Able to multi-task and apply a problem-solving approach to your work

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • Certificate III in Events Management or equivalent or 3 years' experience in a related environment
  • Working with Children Check
  • Class C Driver Licence

About the Role

Full time: 70-hour fortnight (27th January 2026 - 11 October 2026)

Salary: Range from $61,885 to $71,167 pa + 12% super
