The primary purpose of the role is to support communication activities for Council including media relations, brand and reputation management, consultation and engagement, ensuring a positive public image is maintained and being aware and sensitive to political and other issues which may impact on Council.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and develop Council’s website and social media platforms to ensure communications objectives and Council’s brand is maintained
  • Develop and process Council’s newsletters
  • Develop quality online content promoting RVC’s services, including images, video and other rich media, in line with communication and media plans.
  • Develop, proofread and edit publications, promotional material and online content ensure corporate communications and visual design standards are met, and to enhance quality, consistency and effectiveness of messaging where required.
  • Provide reports, information and media on work related matters, manage up and ensure all related documentation is produced to the required standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and services provided by the role and team to ensure effective, efficient and safe delivery of objectives and maximise utilisation of resources.
  • Contribute to a positive culture within the organisation to ensure a safe workplace for our people and the community by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans, and any other documentation required.

We are looking for 

This role requires someone who has a passion for the community and a strong eye for detail. You are:

  • Able to effectively manage multiple tasks across various departments and meet deadlines with competing and changing priorities.
  • Proactive, highly motivated, and resourceful.
  • Able to work independently, as well as part of a team.

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications or extensive experience in a related environment
  • Current Class C Driver Licence
  • General Construction Induction (White Card)

About the Role

Full time: 70-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $70,179 to $91,291 pa + 12% super
