The primary purpose of the role is to provide technical reporting, assessment and regulation of the Onsite Sewage Management Systems (OSMS) and Liquid Trade Waste (LTW) in the Richmond Valley Council local government area ensuring the systems are operating effectively and not posing a risk to human health, infrastructure or the environment.

We are looking for

  • A team player and provide professional support, advice and assistance to internal and external customers on Council’s On-site Sewage Management Strategy and Liquid Trade Waste policy
  • A great communicator and improve community awareness of environmental management practices of on-site sewage management and Liquid Trade Waste systems
  • Someone who can deliver education to our community and businesses as a primary pathway to achieve regulatory and compliance outcomes
  • You have the skills to choose appropriate processes from policy or legislative requirements
  • You will be skilled in preparing correspondence/approvals for new and existing on-site wastewater treatment and disposal systems and Liquid Trade Waste requirements.

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Demonstrated plumbing experience in the operation, servicing and installation of onsite wastewater systems and liquid trade waste pre-treatment devices
  • Class C Driver Licence
  • Demonstrated competencies or equivalent experience in field record management with electronic devices and systems.
  • Liquid Trade Waste Regulation or equivalent
  • Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)

About the Role

Term Contract: 70-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $71,260 to $81,952 pa + 10.5% super
