As part of the Community Strategic Plan, Council is resolved to investigate ways to harness the capacity of community groups to achieve common objectives, as well as develop and implement a strategy to increase volunteerism in the community.
It is a focus of Council to facilitate volunteerism to assist Council with provision and maintenance of facilities and to extend opportunities into new areas of endeavour and to provide a greater level of recognition for the significant contribution made by volunteers, by their participation in activities that are listed within the Community Strategic Plan.
If you would like to learn valuable skills, give back to your community, meet new and interesting people and work with a friendly, helpful team become a volunteer with Richmond Valley Council. All on the job training will be provided and hours can be flexible to suit your lifestyle.
Council will also support job network agencies endeavours to gain meaningful employment through volunteerism and prospective volunteers can also utilise volunteering with Richmond Valley Council to satisfy Centrelink job search requirements. Work experience and student placements are also supported.
